Wildbark Visitor Centre Twilight Tour - Canberra
Visit Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary to embark on a 2.5 hour twilight walk in nature on Canberra’s doorstep. Join nature guides as you wander amongst the biological preserve to learn about the sanctuary that protects many native and endangered species from their predators. On the border of 1300 hectares of fox-free bushland, wander the grassy woodlands with a spotlight to witness rare Eastern Bettong foraging on native truffles or tiny sugar gliders eating nectar from the tops of a flowering eucalyptus tree. Kangaroos and wallabies species can also be found feeding in their natural environment. If you listen carefully, you may even hear the distant cry of curlew birds and nocturnal animals that make an appearance after dark. This evening Twilight Walk is a wonderful introduction to local ecology and conservation work that is being conducted by the Australian National University to restore these critically endangered woodlands and the furry friends that live here.
Enjoy an evening walk in a critically endangered ecosystem with a trained guide, searching for animals extinct from the mainland of Australia. Join a twilight walking tour guided by nature experts to explore local ecology and spot nocturnal and endangered animals.
